Unable to launch DvbDream

the bugs that are most likely related to user configuration (like a specific hardware, codec or driver prob) or impossible to find a logical reason at the moment. The problems in this category might be fixed in future versions as users keep confirming them with additional information.

Unable to launch DvbDream

I am a registered "Paid Up" user. I have just downloaded the product to reinstall it after a system cleanup, and entered my registration.

It will not load. I get a pop-up message that says "can't write to registry. OpenKey() failed! ref:041020111415"

Any ideas?
DVB CARD Model WinTV 88x HVR-3000 Revision 1.0 Driver version 2.123.27056.0
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS Driver version 7.15.11.6906
Windows 7 Pro (32) ... 4 GB RAM ... Disk: 1 Terrabyte
Satellite Astra 2A/2B/2D,Eurobird 1 Position 285 ... Dish with Quad LNB
DVB Dream v1.4i p1 - BDA (DVB-S)
... BDA Definition (with my hauppage card) gives me "Hauppage WinTV 88x DVB-S Tuner/Demod" or "Hauppage WinTV 88x DVB-T Tuner/Demod" ... I chose DVB-S

For some reason , your system doesn't allow DVB Dream to write to the registry. Maybe because of your user rights if you are in a active directory / domain network or because of some anti spyware /antivirus software which blocks DD.



DVB Dream should be able to write the registry in these locations:

32 bit windows
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DVBDream

64 bit windows
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\DVBDream
DVB Dream - because I have to dream about having time to code it
