2.7.1 added bugs

well i used 2.7. worked ok, volume was too quiet but i recorded an watched later. that worked ok. 2.7.1 same codecs, render still frame. buffer constantly overflowing. not happy.

I cannot help you with a bug report like that, since I cannot reproduce your problem here.
You should attach your log file taken right after the problem. and tell me your signal levels.
Try to change your codecs and renderer. Enable "Reset DS after ch-change" checkbox in video options dialog

I don't know where the log file is but there/s the codecs i used

Tried different codec combination. made no difference
Reset DS after ch-change and reset after buffer overlow both already checked. i didn't have this problem before going from 2.7 to 2.71

Log files are located where DVB Dream is installed, under \logs folder.

Maybe you have changed something outside of DVB Dream between your DD versions. like different video card drivers, or OS update etc.
Just try LAV codecs for all (by disabling hardware accelaration) and use VMR9 or VMR7 as video renderer, see if that helps. Try on different channels as well. Also check if you have continuity errors / TS breaks. (in pid statistics, and on info-bar, both under Main menu->Analysis)

the only thing that changed is i upgraded from 2.7 to 2.71. i used the same codecs that worked before. yes i was origionally using bmr9. no differet. I don't understand the statistics info. I'm not a tv engineer. Whcih log file should i be looking at?

Everything looks fine in log files. Little weird situation over there.

I can only suggest these for now:

1) You can use VLC instead of DVB Dream video subsystem. Install VLC (Videolan) Then on DVB Dream, main menu->Tools->VLC. This will display channels in VLC window instead of DVB Dream.
2) You might have packet losses because of hot tuner or some another reason. You can check packet losses with help of info bar Packet Losses should normally be zero.
3) Try an older version , see if it still works fine. Old versions can be found in members section

I cannot think of another reason/solution for now, and cannot reproduce the problem here.

i don't think it's an overheating problem. It was fine even before i put the evo in. I put the vlc player in and that streams just fine. sadly still not in dvbdream. does it use any third party activex or library that the previous version didn't?

No. No difference in video subsytem (directshow), between two versions.

Though I see the problem is related to this. I still suspect selected codecs / renderer cause the problem (but you say you already tried other combinations)
There are no other reports from users if it was a bug. Though still I might be overlooking something.
Maybe the channels you watch use AAC audio and something prevents LAV AAC work properly. (i.e. LAV codec settings) AAC is also supported on Microsoft codecs.

For SD video codecs, you can try installing these codecs to have more codec options to try with.

well i only watch hd as a rule. I switched to a standard resolution and the rendering was fine so i supect it might be something to do with h264 or whatever it's called.
