Toggle and enlarge the splitter bars

Option to toggle the splitter bars - blue or gray bars - to show/hide these bars. If implemented, then these bars might be not so thin, it would be easier to use them and if not needed, it would be possible to hide them completely.
It's just an idea, not too important, only if easy to implement.
