probably a very silly question....i downloaded codec file it opens with notepad...what do i do with it?

you can replace your codecs.ini inside the dvbdream folder with those who people share.
But this is only necessary when DD doesn't recognize codecs installed on your system. Some codecs can't be automatically added to codecs.ini because they use non-standard ways (to be more preceise, differen input/output pin types they register)

Is there any way you can make HDMI audio renderer (ATI or NVIDIA) appear in DVBDream? It would be very useful when watching DVBDream on TV. Is 64bit system causing the problem in this case and can it be done through codec.ini???

cant be done through codecs.ini , probably you can make it default renderer/speaker in windows settings
