This gets my vote too. I use DD primarily as a SageTV encoder and am trying to get my servers to go into sleep mode when not in use. DD keeps the box alive even when in renderless mode and not recording.

For some reason I can't keep the application running more than 5 or 6 hrs. Using Nova-S-Plus BDA, Athlon64 X2 5600+. This problem occured in 1.4h as well.
