After diligently both searching the internet and the forum I couldn't find anything on that topic, so my suggestion: Being used to that function from WinDVR I would love a(n) module/option in DD that displays the remaining recording time instead of the elapsed time. You might just wanna try other video settings.
It worked for me with InterVideo codec and Overlay Video Renderer.
